A history of The News Reporter and its impact on Columbus County will be presented at The News Reporter by editor Les High on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m.

The presentation will highlight how the people of Columbus have been receiving news on everything from everyday news to life-changing historic events since the newspaper’s inception in 1890. The public is invited to attend and hear more about the local Pulitzer Prize winning publication. Light refreshments will be served.

The program is one of the Literary Series programs sponsored by the Reuben Brown House Preservation Society. The Reuben Brown House Preservation Society is a non-profit, non-partisan organization created to encourage literary programs and fine arts in Columbus County and to encourage the preservation and usage of historic buildings and sites in Columbus County. This includes maintaining the historic Reuben Brown House at 128 E.
